Role overviews
Events Officer (x2)
Do you love organising and hosting events? Are you eager to put your planning skills into action and lead teams?
As an Events Officer, you’ll play a central role in designing and delivering our programme of science communication and engagement activities - from workshops and talks to panel discussions featuring high-profile speakers. Next year, we’re even planning an event with the Vice-Chancellor in Hilary term!
We’re looking for:
- A reliable and proactive team player.
- Someone who enjoys workiing with others (and leading when needed).
- Strong organisational skills and curiosity in abundance.
This role comes with a relatively high workload so please apply if you’re ready to take on a rewarding challenge!
Member Lead Officer (x1)
OSSCE is building an interdisciplinary network - but currently, 90% of our members come from the Medical Sciences Division (MSD) or Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division (MPLS). We’d love to change that (while appreciating all our MSD and MPLS members, of course!).
As Member Lead Officer, your mission will be to help us expand into the Social Sciences and Humanities divisions, as well as engage more with undergraduates. You’ll also have the chance to shape events tailored to our underrepresented groups.
We’re looking for:
- Someone creative, approachable, and outreach-minded.
- An individual excited to help grow our diverse community.
The workload is expected to be low to medium.
How to apply
These roles are open to all members of OSSCE. As a reminder, the society is free to join! You can apply for the roles here. The deadline for applications is the 20th of October, with candidates being informed by the 24th. Thanks for your interest and we hope to hear from you soon!
