So, it’s our first term as a proper, functioning society - but what do we have in store? Well, whether you’re an undergrad fresher or a PhD student, we’ve got plenty for you to get involved with. Of course, that’s all on top of our stall at the Freshers’ fair last week, where we had some really great discussions with prospective society members and met some wonderful people.

Without further ado, here’s what we have planned for this term:

• 23/10 A pub social at the Crown so we can get to know each other!
• 30/10 A discussion on challenges in communication between scientists and policymakers with Prof. Gideon Henderson and Cllr. Anna Railton, held alongside OxSTEM Policy Soc.
• 18/11 A lunchtime talk by Sofus zu Ermgassen on why we need ecological economists.
• 25/11 Competition time - who can do the best 3 minute elevator pitch of their research?
